DESCRIPTION:Charles performs with UP Jazz Ensemble Master Class\nThe University of Portland Jazz Festival showcases outstanding student musicians and guest artists from around the nation\, all contributing to a vibrant celebration of jazz performance and education on our campus. Since it began\, the Festival has grown to become a premier student jazz event in the Pacific Northwest. \nThe UP Jazz Festival supports the program’s mission of “excellent teaching and individual attention in an environment that fosters the development of the whole person.” As we continue to add to the rich tradition of this festival\, we look forward to welcoming student groups\, artists\, clinicians\, and adjudicators from across the country.
