DESCRIPTION:Charles McPherson – alto sax\nBruce Barth – piano\nMark Hodgson – double bass\nStephen Keogh – drums \n\n\n\nThe New Jazz Cava\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe venue exceeds the dichotomy between club and concert hall. Facing the cliché image of the small jazz club\, which achieves warmth on the basis of small spaces\, with poor visibility and thick air\, we find a spacious well-heated room with comfortable furniture\, lighting suitable\, both scenic and environmental\, and an elevated electroacoustic technology.  \nThese qualities meet the highest demands of a concert hall. At the same time\, a flexible arrangement of furniture and a full bar service allow informality\, mobility and the multiplicity of uses required by a jazz club. \nThe installation of the Nova Jazz Cava was carried out by rehabilitating the ancient dance hall of the Ateneu Terrassenc\, building built in 1896 and cataloged in the Special Plan for the Architectural Heritage of the city. A first phase of restoration to guarantee its stability took place due to the reform in 1990 of the square or inner courtyard of the Town Hall\, by means of the construction of an exterior brick exterior. The definitive rehabilitation and conditioning for its new use ended in 1994.
